Maddie's First Haircut

We took Maddie last week for her first hair cut. She looks so cute!! We went to a k ids cut place and she even got to sit in a police car while they cut her hair. How cool was that!!! She didn't like the cold water spray or having to wear the cape. They gave her some animal crackers and that made everything better!!

Sorry that it has been so long since I have updated the blog. Things have been wild. I am now in my 27th week of pregnancy, Maddie is 16 months old, We just moved into our first home, and Brandon is on the night shift.

Maddie is really into dancing. Turn up your speakers. You will hear a familar tune. Her favorite song to dance to is the theme for Beverly Hills 90210. Please note the booty shaking that goes on!! When she waves her arm in the air she is trying to mimic snapping. Apparently, I am a snapper and she has learned to copy that. :)

I forgot to mention that Maddie is walking now. She started about a week after her 1st birthday. She is very fast. She loves to follow us as we walk, but she always follows too closely and when we stop she runs right into the backs of our legs, falls on the floor, laughs, and gets right back up. Very funny!!

On September 6 we had a birthday party for Maddie. We ate pizza and cake and had a lot of fun!!

On September 3, Maddie turned one. We gave her a new kitchen. She LOVES it!!! One side of it is a kitchen and the other side is a family room.

She is 23.6 lbs and is in the 81 percentile for weight.

She loves to eat. ANYTHING!!

She is 29.5 inches in length and is in the 56 percentile for height.

She can say: Bye Bye, Night Night, Da Da, Ma Ma, Bannanna "Nanna", Bath, Uh-Oh.

She can wave Bye Bye, Blow kisses, and give you a "high 5". When she wants something to drink she clicks her toungue. So cute. She loves to brush her teeth. When we say "Maddie want to Brush teeth" she goes right to the bathroom and waits until we get there. We don't go anywhere without Blanket. She loves to laugh and is really into climbing. She does not like to sit in grass or play in the sand box. She loves to wait at the window and watch for Brandon to get home. When she see's his car she starts banging on the window.

Our First Family Vacation!!

Maddie had fun walking with Uncle Max. Though she didn't get very far since she couldn't stop looking at him.

Atticus and Maddie had so much fun playing together. Atticus is 3 months older than Maddie. Why isn't Max in the photo?... Maddie ate him :)

We don't have stairs at our house, so Maddie had so much fun learning how to climb up stairs!! That is Atticus at the top of the picture waiting for her to hurry up and get up there with him.

We got to go to the children's museum with Max and Atticus. It was Maddie's first time to go to one. She loved it. Here we are in a big birds nest.

It worked out that we had an empty seat on our row so Maddie got to sit in her own seat. Which was really fun for her. She played with her toys, and stood up on the seat and waved at everyone behind us and tried to poke them through the seats. We thought it was funny, not sure what everyone else thought!!

Maddie liked to look out the window.

Maddie loved watching the planes outside and seeing all the people walking around out on the runway. She would bang on the window trying to get their attention.

At the end of July we flew out to Colorado to visit Jeannie and Max so Maddie could play with her cousins, Max and Atticus.

April 26th, we had both sets of Grandparents come over for Maddie's first picnic. She was so excited that she wanted to wear her hat all morning while she waited for everyone to arrive.

Maddie turned 6 months old today. She can hold her head up really well, she can roll onto her stomach, she can sleep all night without waking up to eat, she eats rice cereal and baby food, and she loves to play in the bath tub!! She has a contagious laugh and loves to smile.

Today at church Maddie's Gramps Baptised her. He has baptised all 9 grandchildren. The baptismal gown that Maddie wore is over 90 years old. Francie wore it when she was baptised. Thought I don't think I enjoyed wearing the gown as much as Maddie seemed too!!

Well, Maddie tried Rice cereal. She did great. The hardest part was to be faster than her. As soon as I take the spoon out of her mouth her thumb goes in. So, the secrect is to have two spoons ready. That way as soon as the spoon come out of the mouth, the other one is going in. Otherwise, no cereal is swollowed.. it ends up on her thumb which ends up in her hair, in her chair, on her body, but mostly on her mommy!!!

What's New in the world of Maddie....

Maddie is 4 Months old Now.
She loves her flower rattle. Sometimes I think she thinks its a real flower, because I often find her smelling it. Maddie loves her friend Jeffery. She won't sleep or go anywhere without him. He is a giraffe.

Maddie had some special visitors come over. She got to spend time with her Aunt Elizabeth (and Jeffery) and her cousin Aly.

Maddie's idea of tummy time is to lay there and look cute...

Maddie loves to wear her new coat. She cries when she has to take it off. I was pretty sad that the coat didn't come in my size. I SO would have worn it.

Maddie got a new hat for christmas to help keep her head warm. She doesn't like to wear it, so we are slowly warming her up to it. We put it on as far as she will let us before she has a melt down. Didn't get to far with it here...but we are making some progress. And yes she did glare at me the whole time we were on our walk.

Maddie has rolled over twice. We haven't got it on film yet because she does it in the middle of the night when she is supposed to be sleeping. I was sleeping one night and she had been asleep for several hours and all of a suddenshe woke up wailing. I rushed in there to see what the problem was and there she was in her crib on her belly, head up, arms out, legs kicking around all frantic like. It was pretty funny. I rolled her back over and she went back to sleep. So, she seems to do okay with the rolling part its the getting back over part that is tough. She is great at rolling on her side though.

(You can't read it from the picture, but Maddie's bid says "Thanks Heaven for little Girls" we thought this was appropriate since we were going to church." That way during silent prayer people knew what Maddie was praying about.)

Sunday Nov 11, we took Maddie to church for the first time. Brandon and I made a bet on the way to church. Looser cooked lunch. We are such good examples to Maddie betting on the way to church and all :) She slept all the way to church, but woke up with just enough time to spit up all over Brandon's shirt then go back to sleep. It was awesome. Brandon smelled like spit up, Maddie got a great nap in, and I won the bet. A great time at church was had by all. Maddie was doing so well that we decided to take her out to a restaurant for the first time. We went to IHOP since kids eat free, we thought this was a good idea. Since I provide the food for Maddie to eat, does that mean my meal is free. Um....NO!!! I still had to pay, so technically all kids don't eat free. Maddie did great. She just sat in my lap and was very happy until she had a massive poop that rocked the whole booth. Lets just say a "To-Go box" was a must.

Maddie did great at her 2 month check up. She got all her immunization shots and did very well. She would cry right when they stuck her and then would stop until she was stuck again. Then I picked her up right after all the shots and she immediatly fell asleep. All the sticking and pain must have worn her out. It sure wore me out. I could have used a nap too!!
